Position Title: Junior Systems Engineer
About Us:
CFS Consulting is a BMC Partner whose employees work to help our clients integrate, upgrade or migrate their BMC Control-M Workload Automation installations. We are specialized in workload automation products (enterprise scheduling systems) and place our employees with our clients to assist them with anything from BMC Control-M installation and configuration to training, knowledge transfers, or customized implementations that fit their needs. CFS Engineers work from home/remotely, and travel to client sites as required.
Role Summary/Purpose:
Full or part-time position, depending on candidate availability
As a member of the Systems Engineering team, serve as project assistant coordinating creation, deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities on customer systems
We are looking to fill the role of Junior Systems Engineer with a candidate who would be willing to learn the BMC Control-M Workload Automation system, and assist our team in integrating it at client sites. This is an entry-level position, and we are looking for a candidate that will learn and grow along with our team.
Essential Responsibilities:
Create new, or upgrade existing, customer BMC Control-M systems and coordinate deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities between other CFS team staff and customer contacts
Understand the operation of the full BMC Control-M system, and its interaction with the various connected systems, assist customers in collecting information about issues, communicate current status and plans, and set expectations
May also involve training customers on system use
Support Systems Engineers and Pre-Sales Engineers as needed
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering (in progress or completing soon)
Ability to travel if needed up to 25% of the time within Canada/USA
Possibility of applying for TN Visa status in the USA
Scripting knowledge (powershell, bash, ksh, perl, python)
Knowledge of XML structure
Windows/Linux OS knowledge (installation, file structure)
Knowledge of networking infrastructure and general TCP/IP connectivity
Knowledge of Virtual Machines (VMWare)
Candidate must provide his/her own computer for work
